Jessica Williams, one of our favourite poets, gave this morning’s talk. She is visiting from Winnipeg and we were thrilled to have her speak to us. The focus is about the beauty and the sadness that co-exist in our lives and circumstances. It culminates in a personalized reading of Psalm 42. Beauty and sadness were both a part of this morning’s experience–it was like we were bathing in the thing she was describing. Earlier in the morning our worship singers, Geordie Hull and Gwen Bilsky, shared a song, Carry On, by Reuelle and Fleurie that corresponded with Jess’ talk in some meaningful ways.
